Killin’s my business and business is fine

This series provides me that pleasure and therefore adds something to the world. This is not a masterpiece for sure but I sometimes want something entertaining that I can relax with. Added bonus - great voice acting by Oliver Wyman. Good jokes, some I have heard before but the context makes them better. Many different locations and a story that is not boring one bit from start to finish. And yet we also see clear writing without straining the language and without taking the reader for a fool.

Anti-goverment remarks at every chapter (can't wait for a movie to play the drinking game). Endless beating of main character throughout the book (if you don't like him I would say this is a big plus). For those that have seen The Blob or any of the Evil Dead movies this is the feeling you get out of this.

The reasons are clear to me and they boil down to this: A cult classic B-rated movie. There is a lot worse out there and this book is actually an oasis among them. However, if you, like me, were looking for something in the science fiction genre and was surprised to find this so highly rated and furthermore having great reviews by most that read it then I will answer the other question: How can it be? How can it be that a book that talks about vampires, guns and gore is so highly regarded? How can it be that a book that has a story out of every other book in this genre is so entertaining? How can people like such literature? Let me tell you something. then the title alone was sufficient to suck you in. Let's face it, if you like werewolfs, zombies, vampires etc. Why should I buy this book? A valid question I had to ask myself when I was reading the description. With the clock ticking towards Armageddon, Owen finds himself trapped between legions of undead minions, belligerent federal agents, a cryptic ghost who has taken up residence inside his head, and the cursed family of the woman he loves.

Should the Cursed One succeed, it means the end of the world, and MHI is the only thing standing in his way. An ancient entity known as the Cursed One has returned to settle a centuries-old vendetta. It's actually a pretty sweet gig, except for one little problem. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. On the other side are the people who kill monsters for a living. Officially secret, some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. I once had a bunch of people convinced that they’d just started filming the MHI movie starring Robert Pattinson as Owen and Janene Garafolo as Julie (with Alec Baldwin as the voice of Skippy).Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. When I prank my fans I reach for the stars. This one is already pretty far along already, and will be the next book in the production line for me once I finish the trench fantasy collaboration with Steve Diamond.ĮDIT: and I just realized what today’s date is, so probably not the best time to announce new projects, but these are actually legit. Many of you are already familiar with Jason’s work, but if you’re not, he is really good. It takes place in California in the 1970s. This next one is called Monster Hunter Memoirs: Fever, by me and Jason Cordova.

In the last update I mentioned that there will be more Monster Hunter Memoirs novels, in the style started by John Ringo, but featuring different hunters in different time periods away from the mainline series, where I’ll collaborate with a different author. Noir Fatale did really well, so I’m excited for this opportunity to do more in this genre. Kacey is awesome, and I loved working with her last time. I’ll announce the authors once that is totally pinned down, but we’ve got some great and talented authors lined up for these. The third volume the theme is the city, and it’s called Down These Mean Streets. This next one is called No Game for Gentlemen, and the theme is detectives. The first one the theme was femme fatales. Up first, there will be two more volumes of noir sci-fi/fantasy anthologies like Noir Fatale, and I’ll be editing them along with Kacey Ezell again. I mentioned these in the last update, but couldn’t elaborate because contracts were still in the mail, but I’ve got three new projects on the way.
